AUGUST 17, 2011- Proposal for standardizing the voting equipment for all towns within Oneida County. The county clerk [MARY BARTELT] had proposed that all of the towns currently using ES&S and the AutoMark ballot marking machine consider Command Central as new vendor. Cindy Skinner explained problems with ES&S as well as the higher costs they charge compared to Command Central. That company has proposed trading the Edge voting machine for the AutoMark at no charge to the town. Discussion. Motion by Brian Gehrig to go ahead with the standardization, second by Matt Matteson. Motion carried by voice vote."

    GRANT COUNTY

    CITY OF PLATTEVILLE

SEPTEMBER 7, 2011 In the past, the City of Platteville has had different voting equipment and softward than the rest of the County, therefore incurring separate ballot and programming costs.  The City Clerk was responsible for programming all elections for the City of Platteville and the County Clerk programmed for the remainder of the County.  This past week, we changed vendors and exchanges [sic] our two handicap accessible voting machines (Auto Mark) for four reconditioned handicap accessible voting machines (Edge). This change in handicap accessible equipment allows for Grant County to now program elections for the City of Platteville, eliminating duplication of effort.  http://64.198.86.66:8080/City%20Council/Sep%2013,%202011/VII.G.%20Cost%20Sharing%20Agreement.pdf

CHIPPEWA COUNTYMark Berge expressed  concerns about air quality and water quality with the sand mine located on Denny Schindler’s farm and read an ariticle about dust emission from working with silica sand in many operations.  He questioned "Why isn’t the EPA  more concerned about the air quality with all the mines in the area?"  The reclamation plan for Denny Schindler’s mine site talks about the water level but not the quality of water.  The Town of Cooks Valley Non-Metallic Mining Ordinance case will be heard by the Wisconsin Supreme Court in the next 3-4 months. http://cv1927.bloomertel.net/Regular%20Town%20Board%20Meeting%20September%2019,%202011.htm
